Responding to a report of a shooting, officers arrived at the 12100 block of San Fernando road Saturday at about 8:40 p.m. and discovered the boy lying on the floor with an apparent stab wound, according to an LAPD statement.

According to detectives, the siblings were arguing over money when Reed grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed her brother in the chest. Parrish Reed was transported to a local hospital where he later died, said Lt. Cheryl MacWillie of the LA County coroner’s office.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact Mission Division homicide detectives at (818) 838-9810.

$15,000 Bail, for Man Accused of Abandoning Puppies, from Bail Bondsman in Lakewood | Long Beach | Ventura

December 2, 2009

Frazier Park – A man accused of abandoning puppies in Lockwood has been arrested for felony animal cruelty and his bail was set at $15,000.

According to authorities, on 11/30/09, a Lockwood Valley Sheriff’s Sub-Station received a call from a resident who reported seeing a man attempting to leave about 12 puppies on the side of the road west of Mill Canyon, within the boundaries of the Los Padres National Forest.

The resident confronted the suspect who then retrieved the puppies, put them in the trunk of his truck and drove off. The resident relayed the suspect’s licensee plate number and description to authorities.

A Kern County Sheriff’s Deputy later located the suspect vehicle and identified Mario Cedillo as the suspect, but no puppies were found.

Deputies and residents of Cuddy Valley mounted a search effort, which failed to reveal the location of the puppies.

On 12/1/09, a Cuddy Valley resident, unaware of the initial search, had located 7 abandoned puppies at the end of Cherry Creek 4×4 Camp Road, situated on the Tecuya Ridge of the Los Padres National Forest.

The resident took custody of the puppies for the evening and turned them over. Based on the investigation, it was suspected these were the same puppies seen with Cedillo.

Ventura County Animal Regulation officers found the puppies’ medical condition to be poor/serious.

Anybody with information relating to these puppies or Mario Cedillo, is encouraged to call the Lockwood Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 245-3829.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department encourages anybody who is experiencing difficulty in handling or caring for animals to contact your local Animal Regulation or Humane Society for assistance or advice

The defendants bail was set at $15,000, but has been released earlier Wednesday. If we receive any more bail bond information we will update the story.

Suspect Arrested in Attack on Blind Man in Anaheim, from Bail Bondsman in Lakewood | Long Beach | Van Nuys | Anaheim | Los Angeles

November 28, 2009

Anaheim – A 23-year-old man, who allegedly attacked a blind man in an Anaheim convenience store, was behind bars today, facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and driving while intoxicated.

Police say a knock on the restroom door provoked the attack at an am/pm near Ball Road and Bookhurst Street about 8:10 a.m. Friday.

“What happened is the guy tried to use the restroom, so he banged on the door,” Anaheim police Lt. K. Switzer said. “That must have irritated the guy who was inside, because he came out and there was a verbal argument between the two.”

About that time, Taufa Vaioleti, cousin to the man who was in the restroom, threw a beer at the 44-year-old victim, whose name was withheld. The victim, who was treated at the scene and released, reportedly has one glass eye and is blind in the other.

“He threw a whole 12-ounce can at him, which really did some damage to this blind man,” Switzer said.

Vaioleti and his cousin fled but but were caught driving around about two hours later near a home in the 1200 block of Alamo Street, Switzer said. Vaioleti was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and driving while under the influence.

The other man’s name was unavailable.

At this time All American Bail Bonds has no additional information on the suspects bail. We will update the story with current bail information as we receive it.

No Bail Hold for Alleged Coyote Arrested in Kidnapping Case , from Bail Bondsman in Lakewood | Long Beach | Van Nuys | Palmdale | Los Angeles

November 28, 2009

Bail Bonds Service in Orange CountySanta Ana – An alleged “coyote” suspected of holding a 4-year- old girl for ransom was locked up in Orange County today, and immigration officials may keep the girl and her mother in the country to help with his prosecution.

Emanuel De La Costa-Valdiva, 32, of Mexico, was arrested Thanksgiving Day on suspicion of human trafficking, kidnapping and extortion, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Authorities suspect the girl’s mother was trying to have her daughter smuggled into the country by a “coyote,” as immigrant smugglers are known.

“Parents who contract with human smugglers should remember they are delivering their children into the hands of criminals, criminals who are all too willing to put a child’s welfare at stake for their own personal gain,” Joseph Macias of ICE said.

A chance encounter led to the arrest, the Orange County Register reported.

A CHP officer was parked at the Laguna Hills mall around 10 a.m. Thursday when a man and a woman approached him, sheriff’s Lt. Mike Jansen said.

The couple explained they had been involved in human smuggling, and that the smuggler had their daughter. The couple had been paying off the smuggler for several weeks, Jansen said, but with the money continuing to roll in the accused smuggler held onto the girl and kept asking for more money.

ICE’s Vincent Picard told the newspaper agents believe the kidnapping and hostage situation was a bait-and-switch on the girl’s mother who was trying to cross into the United States illegally from Mexico with her daughter.

The woman apparently paid De La Costa-Valdiva to smuggle her daughter into the United States, while the mother crossed the border illegally, taking a different route, Picard said.

But instead of being reunited with her mother in California, De La Costa- Valdiva became a kidnapper, refusing to return the little girl, Picard said.

Joseph Macias, the assistant special agent in charge of the ICE investigations in Orange, said the situation was all too common. “Parents who contract with human smugglers should remember they are delivering their children into the hands of criminals, criminals who are often all too willing to put a child’s welfare at stake for their own personal gain,” Macias said.

Agents and deputies worked with the girl’s mother to arrange another payoff with the accused smuggler, Jansen said. For hours, they waited and watched. Around 10 p.m. De La Costa-Valdiva showed up with the girl, and deputies moved in and arrested De La Costa-Valdiva.

Valdiva is being held without bail in Orange County Jail and expected in court Tuesday in Dept. CJ1 at the Central Jail, 550 N. Flower St., according to Orange County Jail records.

As Valdiva is being held on Federal chages as well as other charges there is no bail for him. If the bail information changes we will update the story.

Bail Amount Set $100,501 for Phony Photographer who Turns Self In, from Bail Bondsman in Lakewood | Long Beach | Van Nuys | Palmdale | Los Angeles

November 27, 2009

Los Angeles – A South Los Angeles man accused of posing as a magazine photographer to grope young women turned himself in today, police said.

Keith Nichols, 22, allegedly told several young women he was a photographer for Vibe Magazine, and they agreed to let him “measure” their most intimate body parts for “custom-fitted underwear,” Capt. Blake Chow of the Los Angeles Police Department said earlier.

Nichols told the women that if their measurements were right, they could get a modeling job for Vibe Magazine, Chow said.

The women realized they had “been duped when Nichols never returned phone calls,” he said.

Nichols, who has worked as a security guard and lived in Compton, turned himself in to police around 1 this afternoon, and bail was set at $1000,501, according to jail records.

“The `measuring’ sessions often occurred spontaneously in secluded, public places, where Nichols used a measuring tape as a prop,” Chow said. “While none of the woman recalled him taking photographs, Nichols did touch the women’s bare breasts and groins with his hands.

“These crimes amount only to a misdemeanor at this point, but the potential for a more serious crime is there,” Chow said earlier. “We don’t know how many women Nichols has approached, how many have submitted, or if he has committed more serious crimes.”

“The lure of Hollywood and a big career in modeling blinded these girls from reality,” Chow said. “That’s what con artists rely on.”

Nichols currently has the existing open charge as well as a warrant, we will provide more information on his bail or case information as it comes in.

Bail Amount Set $100,000…Ex-LAPD Officer Arrested in Saddleback Church Burglary, from Los Angeles | Orange County Bail Bondsman

November 26, 2009

Lake Forest – A former Los Angeles police officer was behind bars on Wednesday, facing allegations of burglarizing Saddleback Church several times since August 2008, when he worked there as a security guard, an Orange County sheriff’s spokesman said.

Charles Mottern, 45, of Irvine, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, evading arrest, resisting arrest and may also face charges of impersonating a police officer, sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said. Bail was set at $100,000, Amormino said.

Mottern was working at the church in August 2008 when church officials began noticing things missing, Amormino said. Then about 5 a.m. Thursday, security guards interrupted a burglary but were unable to catch the thief, he added.

A black BMW parked across the street at the strip mall, however, was seen speeding away, and sheriff’s detectives traced it to Mottern, Amormino said.

While en route to Mottern’s home Tuesday, deputies spotted him in the BWM and tried to make a traffic stop, Amormino said. Eventually, he pulled over, but got out of the car and ran, he said.

Deputies used a Taser in arresting him, Amormino said. Mottern’s booking photo also showed him with a bruised and cut face.

Stolen items recovered from Mottern’s home included such things as camera equipment, computers, phones and walkie-talkies, Amormino said.

“Any kind of electronic equipment that wasn’t nailed down was taken,” he said.

Mottern also had a phony police identification on him, Amormino said.

Mottern stopped working at Saddleback in December 2008, Amormino said, adding he does not know why. Mottern’s employment with the LAPD ended in 1996.

Mottern is still in custody at the Orange County Mens Facility in Santa Ana, The Bail Bond required for hom is $100,000 and All American Bail Bonds is following the case. We will provide more information as it relates to bail and the Bail Bonding Services we perform.

Kerry’s daughter not to face drunk-driving charge, The B.S. just keeps getting DEEPER. From Bail Bondsman in Los Angeles

November 25, 2009

From (AFP)

LOS ANGELES — The daughter of former US presidential candidate John Kerry will not be charged after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Los Angeles prosecutors have said.

Alexandra Kerry, 36, a film producer and director, was detained early Thursday after being pulled over in Hollywood.

“We’ve declined to file charges in that matter due to insufficiency of the evidence,” Frank Mateljan of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office confirmed on Monday.

US Senator John Kerry issued a statement criticizing those who rushed to the conclusion that his daughter had been inebriated.

“Despite some speculation, my daughter was pulled over for an expired registration, not for erratic driving,” he said.

“A breathalyzer test at the police station revealed she was under the legal limit. She was released a short time later, not at 5:30 am or after being held overnight, as some reported,” said the Massachusetts senator, who as Democratic Party candidate lost the 2004 presidential election to George W. Bush.

The senator added: “While she regrets driving with an expired registration, and takes full responsibility for it, that mistake should never have been compounded by erroneous reports suggesting she was driving drunk.”

Alexandra Kerry was arrested after she allegedly committed a traffic violation. Officers then conducted a field sobriety test and placed her under arrest. A blood alcohol test produced a reading of 0.06, under California’s legal limit of 0.08, according to news reports.

She wrote and directed a short film in 2004 and had a bit part role in David Mamet’s 2004 thriller “Spartan.”

Under California law, individuals can still be prosecuted for DUI — even if the level is less than 0.08 — if a vehicle was judged to have been operated unsafely due to alcohol.

As a bail bondsman in Los Angeles I see it all, I will tell you right now some people are above the law.

.06, .08, who cares; charges should be filed for if any one else was arrested under the same circumstances I will guarantee you that charges would be filed. Once again it’s not what you know….It’s Who You know.

Good Lookin’ out Senator ; )

Bail Bond Granted…Polanski Wins Bail in Switzerland, Stays in Jail, from Bail Bondsman in Los Angeles

November 25, 2009

GENEVA (AP)-A Swiss court granted Roman Polanski bail on Wednesday, accepting $4.5 million to allow him to remain under house arrest at his chalet. The director will stay in prison for up to 10 days while the Swiss government decides whether to appeal.
The Swiss Criminal Court reversed its previous rejection of bail, saying it was confident the large cash guarantee would compel Polanski to remain at his chalet in the Swiss resort of Gstaad under house arrest and monitored by an electronic bracelet.

The court said it still viewed him as a high flight risk. The verdict does not affect the Swiss Justice Ministry’s ongoing assessment of whether Polanski should be extradited to the United States for having sex in 1977 with a 13-year-old girl. Polanski fled sentencing in Los Angeles a year later.

“The 76-year-old appellant is married and the father of two minors,” the court said as it considered Polanski’s offer of a cash bail secured by his apartment in Paris. “It can be assumed that as a responsible father he will, especially in view of his advanced age, attach greater importance to the financial security of his family than a younger person.”

The court said Polanski would be subjected to “constant electronic surveillance” at his chalet and an alarm would be activated if he leaves the premises or takes off the bracelet.

But Polanski wasn’t immediately released by the Swiss Justice Ministry, which ordered him arrested Sept. 26 as he arrived in Zurich to receive a lifetime achievement award at a film festival.

“We will decide quickly on whether to order his release or file an appeal with the Federal Tribunal,” ministry spokesman Folco Galli said. Authorities had 10 days to refer the matter to the tribunal, Switzerland’s highest court, but Galli said they would make their decision before that.

The Federal Tribunal said it had yet to receive an appeal.

Polanski’s lawyers Lorenz Erni in Zurich and Herve Temime in Paris declined to comment. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office also had no reaction, spokeswoman Shiara Davila-Morales said.

The decision came as a surprise after a series of setbacks for the director of “Rosemary’s Baby,” ”Chinatown,” and “The Pianist.”

Swiss legal experts had said earlier that Polanski’s chances of bail were slim, and even U.S. authorities expressed confidence that a Swiss court wouldn’t grant his release.

The court last month rejected Polanski’s first bail offer of his Gstaad chalet as collateral, which the director claimed made up more than half of his personal wealth and would definitely guard against his flight because he has two children he must support through school.

This time, the court looked favorably on Polanski’s offer of cash and the threat of sacrificing his family’s home if he fled justice.

“Cash is king,” said Peter Cosandey, a former Zurich prosecutor. Still, he said he could “hardly remember a case where bail is granted to someone who isn’t even a full-time Swiss resident.”
A decision on extraditing Polanski to Los Angeles is still pending, and would also be subject to appeals.

Polanski was accused of raping the 13-year-old girl after plying her with champagne and a Quaalude pill during a modeling shoot in 1977. He was initially indicted on six felony counts, including rape by use of
drugs, child molesting and sodomy.

Polanski pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of unlawful sexual intercourse. In exchange, the judge agreed to drop the remaining charges and sentence him to prison for a 90-day psychiatric evaluation. The evaluator release Polanski after 42 days, but the judge said he was going to send him back to serve out the 90 days.
Polanski then fled the country on Feb. 1, 1978, the day he was to be sentenced and has lived in France since.
Polanski claims the judge and prosecutors acted improperly. A California appeals court will listen to oral arguments from his attorneys next month. They will be urging the court to order a lower court to decide whether to dismiss charges against the fugitive director, whether he is present or not.

As a bail bonding company with bail bonding offices throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernadino county we find this story interesting for the simple reason that we were unaware that Switzerland even had the bail process. We will provide more information on this bail story as details come in.
